Why the NA9?
AIM has been building enterprise-grade network infrastructure since 1983. The NA9 is what happens when that expertise meets a listening room.
AIM isn't a cable brand that decided to go audiophile. They're a communications engineering company that built the network infrastructure for Universal Studios Japan, Kansai Airport, and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone — and has been designing domestic audio cables since 2006. The NA9 is their flagship Ethernet cable, and it shows.
Where lesser cables let electromagnetic noise compress your soundstage and smear your bass and treble, the NA9 keeps those limitations to an absolute minimum. The result is a cable that doesn't add anything to the sound — and doesn't take anything away either.
Hoplon Shielding
Four distinct shielding materials in one architecture, each targeting a different slice of the noise spectrum.
OFC Conductors
Eight solid AWG 22 oxygen-free copper cores in four twisted pairs — purpose-built for clean signal transfer.
Telegärtner Connectors
Terminated with top-tier Telegärtner RJ45 connectors, wrapped in 360° die-cast nickel-plated zinc shielding.
Conductive Inner Sheath
A proprietary inner sheath made from conductive functional material adds another layer of noise control from within.
Hoplon: Four Layers of Protection
Ethernet noise doesn't come from one place — and a single shielding approach can't stop all noise. AIM's Hoplon system layers four different materials, each designed for a different part of the problem.
- Pulshut® MU: Asahi Kasei's EMI suppression sheet wraps each twisted pair, absorbing radiated and conducted noise at the source.
- Aluminum Shield: Handles high-frequency interference with flexibility — wraps cleanly around twisted pairs without cracking.
- Copper Shield: Broad-spectrum coverage, with particular strength in the audio band — where it matters most for music.
- High-Density Copper Braid: Exceptional low-frequency shielding. Paired with the copper shield, it creates a near-impenetrable noise barrier.
What You'll Actually Hear

Hi-fi+ reviewer Alan Sircom described the NA9 as one of the cleanest-sounding Ethernet cables he'd tried — not just in terms of lifting the performance, but in its absolute fidelity to the recording itself. The Hoplon shielding architecture is the key here — it keeps cross-conductor electromagnetic noise and RF interference from compressing the image space and narrowing the frequency extremes, so your system can perform at its actual ceiling, not an artificially lowered one.
