Grand Activation Extreme HGA-2000 Power Cord

The HGA-2000 brings Grand Activation's MMAT process and high-purity copper to a power cord at a far more approachable price than the flagship. It sits one step below the HGA-6000 that Stereo Times' Clement Perry made his reference.

Grand Activation's process, at the approachable end of the line.

The Design

Grand Activation (GA) is a Bristol, England company that introduced its Metal Molecular Activation Technology (MMAT) in 2021 and applies it to every product it makes. GA says MMAT increases the number of electrons flowing per second through each conductor, improving dynamic range and lowering background noise. GA's case rests on listening, and so does ours. QSA, whose treatments we carry throughout our catalog, acknowledges that it treats Grand Activation's cables as well.

The HGA-2000 uses high-purity oxygen-free copper conductors. According to GA's price list, the HGA-6000 adds Teflon outerwear and Furutech rhodium-plated connectors.

How It Sounds

Perry's review covers the HGA-6000, and he heard a quieter background, a smoother top end, and greater dynamics. Reviews of the HGA-2000 are on the way, and we'll add our own listening notes as we gather them.

Where It Fits

Use it on a DAC, streamer, preamplifier, or amplifier, and start with the component that matters most in your system. The price is for a 2m cord, and we can arrange other lengths. We're Grand Activation's US distributor, so we can help you decide between the HGA-2000 and the HGA-6000.

Press Recognition

• Stereo Times, Clement Perry, reviewed the HGA-6000 and noted that GA currently makes two AC cords, the HGA-2000 and the HGA-6000. Reviews of the HGA-2000 are on the way. Read the HGA-6000 review at Stereo Times
