Wireworld Platinum Starlight 10 Digital Audio Cable

When a transport, streamer, or DDC feeds your DAC over a digital cable, the music depends on that one link arriving with perfect timing. The Platinum Starlight 10 is Wireworld's flagship digital audio cable, built from the finest conductor Wireworld uses, for systems where the DAC can reveal every improvement in the signal.

Wireworld's finest digital link, in coaxial or balanced.

The Design

The conductors are 22-gauge OCC-7N solid silver. OCC stands for Ohno Continuous Casting, which grows each strand as a nearly continuous crystal, and 7N means 99.99999% pure. It's the same conductor Wireworld uses across its Platinum flagships.

They're arranged in Wireworld's patented DNA Helix geometry and built to the exact impedance each format requires: 75 ohms for coaxial S/PDIF and 110 ohms for balanced AES/EBU. Holding that impedance steady keeps reflections down, so the digital signal arrives with clean edges and stable timing, and your DAC's receiver has an easier job. COMPOSILEX 5, Wireworld's own insulation, surrounds the conductors.

The coaxial version uses Wireworld's carbon fiber plugs with silver-clad OFC contacts. The balanced version uses XLR connectors with silver-clad copper alloy contacts.

How It Sounds

Wireworld designs the Platinum Starlight 10 for authentic tone, heightened musical expression, and immersive, holographic imaging. Digital "glare" gives way to the natural texture of instruments and voices, with real space around them.

Connections

  • RCA to RCA: 75-ohm coaxial S/PDIF, the most common digital connection between transports, streamers, and DACs
  • BNC to BNC: 75-ohm coaxial, for components with BNC digital connections
  • XLR to XLR: 110-ohm balanced AES/EBU, XLR female to XLR male

All three are the same price. Choose the connection your source and DAC share; if they offer more than one, give us a call and we'll help you pick.

Where It Fits

The Platinum Starlight 10 sits at the top of Wireworld's Series 10 digital cables, above the Gold Starlight 10 and Silver Starlight 10. Use it between your best digital source and DAC. For a slimmer, lower-cost balanced option with the same solid silver, the Micro-Platinum Eclipse 10 is the natural alternative. Pair it with Platinum Starlight 10 Ethernet upstream for a complete Platinum digital chain.

Press Recognition

The Platinum Starlight 10 carries forward Wireworld's flagship digital cable line, and reviews of this Series 10 version are on the way. We'll add them here as they're published.
