New Core

The X2 is the first Lumin flagship to feature their fastest processor. First launched in 2022, the latest architecture provides a new foundation for Lumin. The increased processing power and storage capacity provide greater resampling flexibility, audio processing performance and future-proofing. The X2 supports up/down sampling up to DSD256.

Dual Toroidal External Linear Power Supply

The X2 sports a new external dual-toroidal linear power supply has a very low noise linear regulator, the highest quality components throughout, with separate digital and analog circuitry. The solid billet construction with thick aluminum walls provides even more shielding and matches the main chassis construction.

Dual Lumin Discreet DAC

After years of dedicated in-house R&D, the Lumin X2 introduces their brand-new discrete DAC. The introduction of a fully discrete DAC architecture marks a milestone in Lumin’s digital evolution. By building the converter from individually selected components, every aspect of the digital-to-analogue process can be precisely optimized — from circuit topology and power delivery to clocking and signal integrity.

Tailored to their streaming engine, this cohesive and stable foundation sets the stage for the next chapter of our flagship design.

Redesigned Output Buffer

The fully balanced analogue output module features Lundahl output transformers with compensation circuitry, improved clarity, detail, richness, musical flow and warmth. 

Femto Clock

Timing is everything with digital audio, and the X2 was designed with state of the art precision femto clocks. The Lumin X2's unique femto clock algorithm was designed for their in-house built discrete DAC. With dual femto crystal oscillators and a custom programmed FPGA for precision timing.

Built in Optical Network Capability

An industry-first with LUMIN X1 and now spreading through their range of streamers, the optical network capability provides complete galvanic isolation from the rest of the network. Lumin implements an industry-standard SFP for maximum compatibility with optical ready routers and switches. Additionally, dual network ports mean that you can connect other equipment (e.g. NAS) as well.
