Audience PowerChord Length Option (metric): 1 meter
Termination: 15 amp iec
The Audience frontRow powerChord delivers the full MORRE platform to your AC connection — six-nines OCC copper, virgin XLPE insulation, OFC copper RF/EMI shielding, and MORRE Deep Cryo II + EHVP post-production. The result is a dramatically lower noise floor, improved dynamics, and a more natural tonal presentation across every component it powers. Rated at 34.7 amps, it handles anything from a DAC to a monoblock amplifier. TAS Editor's Choice 2022.

Audience frontRow powerChord

The Upgrade You Didn't Know Your System Was Waiting For

Power cords are the product category that audiophiles most often dismiss — right up until they actually try one. The reasoning makes intuitive sense: by the time AC reaches your wall outlet, it's traveled hundreds of miles through transmission lines, transformers, and distribution infrastructure. What difference could the last six feet possibly make?

Quite a lot, as it turns out. The final connection between your wall and your component is also the most direct route for noise, RF interference, and grounding artifacts to enter your audio circuit. And the quality of that connection — the conductor material, geometry, shielding, and termination — determines how much of that interference makes it through.

The Audience frontRow powerChord is built with the same MORRE platform, the same six-nines OCC copper, and the same post-production rigor as the frontRow interconnects and speaker cables. The result, as Positive Feedback's John Acton put it after a full review, is this: "Can the addition of a power cord be life changing? Yes, when that power cord is the Audience frontRow. It's that good."

What It's Actually Doing

The frontRow powerChord isn't passive. Its job is not simply to connect your component to the wall — it's to deliver clean, unimpeded AC power while actively rejecting the electromagnetic and radio frequency interference that pollutes the mains in every listening environment.

Six conductors of 38-strand 99.9999% pure OHNO Continuous Cast Copper — the same six-nines OCC material used across the entire frontRow line — are configured in a geometry specifically engineered to minimize magnetic inductance and electromagnetic interaction between the hot, neutral, and ground conductors. This isn't incidental to performance; it's central to it. Conductor interaction generates noise, and noise raises the floor beneath your music.

Each OCC conductor is insulated in virgin cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), chosen for its stable dielectric constant across all frequencies and its exceptional compatibility with OCC copper in audio applications.

An OFC copper ground shield actively shunts unwanted RF and EMI noise away from the signal conductors, providing a quiet background that allows your components to perform without fighting the interference delivered by a standard power cord.

The wire current capacity is rated at 34.7 amps — meaning the frontRow powerChord will never become a bottleneck for even the most power-hungry monoblock amplifiers. High-current components that demand instantaneous current delivery will find no restriction here.

MORRE and Post-Production

Like every frontRow product, the powerChord undergoes MORRE Deep Cryo II and EHVP post-production treatments after final assembly. These processes refine the conductive lattice at the molecular level, reduce electron scatter, and establish more efficient pathways for energy transfer throughout the cable's structure. The cable is then burned in for three to four days before shipping, arriving ready to perform from the first connection.

Terminations are Audience's rhodium-plated copper wall plugs and either 15-amp or 20-amp IEC connectors — chosen for the quality of contact they maintain over time and the security of connection they provide.

What to Expect

The frontRow powerChord's sonic character is consistent with the rest of the frontRow line: lower noise floor, improved resolution of low-level detail, wider and deeper soundstage, and a naturalness to tonal color that makes familiar recordings feel newly honest. Bass gains definition and control. Dynamics open up, both at loud passages and — critically — in the subtle micro-dynamic gradations that convey the feel of a live performance. Treble becomes more extended and less grainy.

One consistent observation across multiple reviews: the frontRow powerChord has a particular quality in the lower midrange and bass that reviewers have described as tuneful and dynamic — not warm or woolly, but genuinely controlled and musical. It's the kind of bass improvement that makes you realize how much the previous power cord was softening and blurring the foundation of the music.

It works equally well on source components, preamplifiers, power amplifiers, and DACs. Most listeners find that starting with the amplifier or the most power-hungry component in the chain produces the most immediately audible improvement, then working back toward the source.
