LUMIN U2 Mini Network Streaming Transport

You've found a DAC you love. Now you want to stream into it with the same care, without paying for a second DAC you'll never use. The U2 Mini is LUMIN's compact transport for exactly that: the full LUMIN streaming experience and app, delivered as a clean digital signal to the DAC you already own.

Your DAC's perfect partner, in a compact LUMIN.

The Design

The U2 Mini was the first LUMIN built on the company's current processing platform, with the power to play DSD512 and PCM 768kHz and to upsample or downsample everything to DSD256 or PCM 384kHz, so you can feed your DAC the format it sounds best with. It builds on the much-loved U1 Mini, keeping its musicality while adding features and flexibility.

Outputs cover every DAC: USB for the highest resolutions, plus AES/EBU, coaxial RCA and BNC, and optical. Leedh Processing lossless volume control lets it drive a DAC straight into a power amplifier when your DAC lacks a volume control.

How It Sounds

Reviewers keep finding that the U2 Mini lets a good DAC show what it can do. Twittering Machines' Michael Lavorgna found it close to transparent. What Hi-Fi heard dynamics delivered with fluidity and real punch on demand. Hifi.nl found it a transport that won't disappoint even with DACs costing far more, with great resolution and LUMIN's trademark naturalness and smoothness.

Where It Fits

The U2 Mini is the entry point to LUMIN's transports and a natural partner for DACs from compact to high-end. When you want a linear power supply and optical networking, the U2 is the next step; for a flagship transport with 10MHz clock connections, look to the U2X.
