QSA XLR

These QSA XLR adapters are in my opinion worth having in the system. I have quite a few QSA fuses and jitters, they never disappoint.
I found with the XLRs quieter background, clearer dynamics, and more naturalness. As with any of these products they are not cheap, but considering the improvements they offer its a lot cheaper then up grading hardware or cabling

QSA Analog Signal Adapters (Stereo Pair)

Everywhere an analog cable meets a component, the signal crosses a connection. QSA's analog adapters sit at that connection, on the sending end, the receiving end, or both, so its treatment is in the signal path itself. Each set is a stereo pair of two adapters.

Treat the connection where the signal crosses.

The Design

QSA says its treatment, which it calls MMMAT and MAT, makes electron flow through the metal more efficient. QSA keeps the process to itself, so we judge it the way Stereo Times' Clement Perry says he does: by listening. Choose RCA or XLR to match your cable, then choose the end: the sending end (the source component's output), the receiving end (the preamplifier or amplifier input), or both ends for the greatest effect. Start at the end nearest your noisiest component, often a digital source, and experiment from there.

Levels run from Yellow through Violet, Orange, Red, Black Red, Silver, and Gold to Crystal Gold Red and ULTRA Crystal Gold Red. Our impressions of the ladder: Yellow is the entry point and a worthwhile step; Violet is more natural and musical; Red is where the QSA character becomes unmistakable; Black/Red steps up image density and resolution; Gold is QSA's reference level.

Our Experience

QSA positions the analog adapters as the way to apply its treatment to the signal path rather than the power path, aiming for more inner detail, a wider soundstage, and greater naturalness. We'll add our own listening notes as we gather them.

Where It Fits

Use them between a source and a preamplifier, or a preamplifier and an amplifier, alongside QSA power products or on their own. QSA adapters are made to order, so they are special order and non-returnable; a trade-up program credits what you've paid toward a higher level.

Press Recognition

  • Stereo Times has reviewed QSA's fuses and Jitter AC adapters, and Clement Perry named QSA his Most Wanted Component for 2021. Reviews of the analog adapters are on the way. Read the adapter review at Stereo Times
