SteinMusic Super Naturals Matrix
SteinMusic Super Naturals Matrix
The Super Naturals Matrix is the top tier of SteinMusic's equipment feet, designed to couple your components and speakers to the floor so resonances find a way out. SteinMusic says it grounds components instead of damping them, so the resonance leaves and the energy of the music stays.
Ground the component, and keep the energy of the music.
The Principle
SteinMusic points out that resonances occur in every audio device, and simply damping them also removes essential energy from the music. Isolating a device traps the resonances inside the casing. SteinMusic prefers to give them an outlet, a path to the ground. Reflections arise at the interface between a component and the surface it sits on, and the Matrix works on both sides: it dissipates unwanted resonances from the component and reduces the reflections that travel back from the surface. SteinMusic says this grounds the device stably and unobtrusively.
The Construction
Inside, ceramic elements and felt pads work together. SteinMusic says ceramic dissipates energy very quickly, while felt normally only damps it, so the pads are vacuum-impregnated with a special lacquer that stabilizes them and gives the sound a firm yet open character. The chosen woods add a natural tone, with two feet in African zebrano and one in Italian olive wood. What sets the Matrix apart from the other Naturals is an additional layer: a customized version of the SteinMusic E-Pads that refines how the materials interact. Each foot is 30 mm high and 30 mm in diameter, and a set of three supports up to 150 kg.
What You Hear
SteinMusic says the soundstage opens in width and depth, voices and instruments sit precisely, and the expression stays refined, subtle, intense, and colorful. Compared with the other Naturals models, SteinMusic says the sound gains even more tranquility and openness, with a calmer, more structured presentation.
How to Use Them
- Each set has three feet: two darker zebrano and one lighter olive wood. The side with the gold metal ring faces up.
- Use them under any component, from CD players and turntables to amplifiers and speakers, in place of the original feet so the housing couples directly to the floor. If the original feet are taller, remove them.
- If one end of a component carries more weight, place the olive wood foot under the heaviest part and the two zebrano feet so they carry roughly equal weight. SteinMusic says this balance matters more than a symmetrical layout.
- Under loudspeakers, put the olive wood foot at the front center and the two zebrano feet at the rear, left and right.
The feet are very stable under load and sensitive to shear forces, so always place components straight down from above.
Where It Fits
Choose the Matrix when you want the most from SteinMusic's feet. SteinMusic says a set of three under a source or amplifier is enough to hear how much structure your system has to give. The Super Naturals Signature is the step below it. We're happy to help you decide which components to start with.
