Hapa Audio Aero AG RCA Interconnect
The Aero AG is the silver-conductor version of Hapa Audio's Aero platform: the same aerogel dielectric and design philosophy as the Aero Cu, with a nano-polished pure UPOCC silver conductor at its center.
The Aero platform, with a silver conductor.
The Design
Hapa Audio is a small cable maker in Aurora, Colorado, founded by Jason Wong in 2020, and every cable is built by hand. Hapa's Aero, Haiku, and Torsion cables suspend the conductor in aerogel, a silica material that Hapa describes as 99.8% air, in place of conventional plastic insulation. Hapa says it pioneered aerogel dielectrics in cables.
The conductor is pure UPOCC (ultra-pure Ohno continuous cast) silver, nano-polished with the process Hapa developed for the Haiku. Hapa describes the polishing as a physical improvement to the conductor's surface, rather than a coating. The shield is Litz silver wire, chosen to reject RF while adding little capacitance around the aerogel.
How It Sounds
Hapa describes the Aero AG as keeping the Aero Cu's balanced, neutral character while adding the resolution and extension of silver. We'll add our own listening notes as we gather them.
Where It Fits
Use it between source and preamplifier, or preamplifier and amplifier, in a system resolving enough to use silver's extra detail. The Aero Cu is the copper version. Tweek Geek offers in-home auditions nationwide.
