Hapa Audio Aero AG USB Cable

USB audio puts power and data in the same cable, which makes it one of the noisier digital connections in a system. The Aero AG USB brings Hapa Audio's silver-conductor aerogel platform to that link, with nano-polished UPOCC silver conductors and an eight-wire, noise-canceling geometry.

Silver conductors and aerogel, for the USB link.

The Design

Hapa Audio is a small cable maker in Aurora, Colorado, founded by Jason Wong in 2020, and every cable is built by hand. Hapa's Aero, Haiku, and Torsion cables suspend the conductor in aerogel, a silica material that Hapa describes as 99.8% air, in place of conventional plastic insulation. Hapa says it pioneered aerogel dielectrics in cables and polishes each conductor by hand before it goes in. UPOCC stands for ultra-pure Ohno continuous cast.

The Aero AG USB adapts the eight-wire, noise-canceling geometry from Hapa's Ember USB to silver conductors in aerogel.

How It Sounds

An AudioCircle reviewer who toured the Haiku alongside the Aero AG USB wrote that the Haiku's attributes, space above all, were present in the USB cable too. Owners comparing the Aero USB with other USB cables described the sound opening up. We'll add our own listening notes as we gather them.

Where It Fits

Use it between your streamer or computer and a USB DAC, especially when the rest of the system is resolving enough to use the extra detail silver offers. The Aero Cu USB is the copper-conductor version. Tweek Geek offers in-home auditions nationwide, so you can hear a Hapa cable in your own system.
