Hapa Audio Torsion Cu Speaker Cables
Speaker cables ask more of a design than interconnects: more conductor mass, and in Hapa's case more aerogel. The Torsion Cu applies Hapa Audio's aerogel dielectric to a speaker cable, with a 14 AWG nano-polished UPOCC copper conductor in each of two legs.
Aerogel, scaled up to a speaker cable.
The Design
Hapa Audio is a small cable maker in Aurora, Colorado, founded by Jason Wong in 2020, and every cable is built by hand. Hapa's Aero, Haiku, and Torsion cables suspend the conductor in aerogel, a silica material that Hapa describes as 99.8% air, in place of conventional plastic insulation. Hapa says a pair of Torsion cables uses more aerogel by volume than ten Aero USB cables, because a 14 AWG conductor needs far more of it. UPOCC stands for ultra-pure Ohno continuous cast copper.
A nylon separator holds the two legs at an optimized distance from each other, Hapa's way of managing the cable's electrical interaction between them.
How It Sounds
Hapa describes the Torsion Cu as a neutral, revealing cable for systems that are already dialed in. We'll add our own listening notes as we gather them.
Where It Fits
Choose from 2m, 2.5m, or 3m lengths, with NexGen or ETI Link spades or bananas to match your terminals. Tweek Geek offers in-home auditions nationwide, so you can hear the Torsion Cu in your own system.
Press Recognition
Reviews of the Torsion Cu are on the way, and we'll add them here as they're published.
