Variants: Gold Level Treatment
What looks like an ordinary hardware store outlet, The QSA treated AC receptacle is anything but when it comes to sonic performance. A QSA receptacle will improve resolution, soundstage, & overall tonal/timbre balance in your system. The Gold receptacle has incredible smoothness & detail retrieval! Install this as your main system's outlet & elevate the ENTIRE system.

NOTE: QSA occasionally has order backlogs, and it may take up to 8 weeks to receive your item if we do not have it in stock.

QSA AC Receptacles

"The receptacle I replaced was a Furutech — very well engineered and better looking — but it cannot match the Yellow from QSA. The QSA Yellow brings delicacy, more air, better separation between layers, less distortion, more clarity and grip. It is more natural and music is easy to listen to. The receptacle is a simple consumer grade outlet treated by QSA, looks cheap but I don't care — it is simply phenomenal." — Verified Customer

It's Not the Outlet. It's What's Been Done to It.

We'll get this out of the way upfront, because it's the first thing most people think when they see a QSA AC receptacle: this looks like something from the electrical aisle at Home Depot.

You're not wrong. The physical housing is a standard consumer-grade outlet. That's intentional — QSA isn't in the business of selling you fancy metalwork. What they are in the business of is a proprietary electronic conditioning treatment applied to that outlet before it ever ships. That treatment is what you're investing in, and that treatment is what you'll hear.

The outlet is just the vessel. The treatment is everything.

How the Levels Work

QSA AC Receptacles are available in ascending levels: Yellow, Violet, Red, Black/Red, Black/Red Ultra, and Gold. Each level represents a more intensive application of QSA's treatment process — more cycles, deeper conditioning, and in some cases different treatment protocols entirely.

The result at each step up is not a subtle refinement. It's a more powerful sonic transformation. Customers who start at Yellow and trade up to Red don't describe it as a minor improvement. They describe it as a different league.

Where you start is up to you and your budget. Where you end up is usually higher than you planned — which is why we have the Trade-Up Program.

What to Expect When You Install One

A single QSA receptacle installed at the wall — feeding your entire audio system — will do more for the performance of your system than most component upgrades at the same price point. We guarantee that, and we mean it literally. More on that below.

What changes? Listeners consistently report:

  • A dramatically lower noise floor
  • A larger, more three-dimensional soundstage
  • Better separation and layering between instruments
  • A naturalness and ease to the music that is genuinely hard to describe — and immediately obvious

The Yellow level is a meaningful upgrade over anything else at its price. By the time you reach Red, the receptacle stops being a tweak and starts being a foundational component of your system. The Gold performs at a level that competes with — and in many respects outperforms power conditioners at its price point.

A Word on Break-In

Higher-level receptacles take longer to fully open up, and the difference between a fresh install and a broken-in one is not trivial:

Level Break-In Period
Yellow ~2 weeks
Violet ~3 weeks
Red ~4 weeks
Black/Red ~6 weeks
Black/Red Ultra ~8 weeks
Gold Starts a little closed, fully opens over several weeks - can take up to 6 months

During break-in on the Gold, you'll notice soundstage width and depth increasing, detail improving, and bass becoming more defined and authoritative. Don't judge it in the first week.

"But I Already Have a Power Conditioner"

Good — keep it. The QSA receptacle isn't replacing what your conditioner does. Your conditioner is filtering RFI and other conventional noise. The QSA receptacle appears to be working on something else entirely — something your conditioner isn't addressing, and something that doesn't show on conventional measurement equipment.

The practical result: even with a power conditioner downstream, a QSA receptacle at the wall makes a system-wide, clearly audible difference. The two work on different problems. Having both is better than either alone.

Turbo Mode: Add the QSA Circuit Breaker

If you want to significantly amplify everything the receptacle is doing, pair it with a QSA Circuit Breaker on your audio circuit's dedicated line. The breaker acts as a force multiplier — the two together, at Red level or higher, produce results that exceed what most line conditioners can achieve sonically. Match the levels. It matters.

Our Guarantee — and the Gold Loaner

We stand behind every QSA product we sell. If a single QSA AC receptacle installed at your wall doesn't elevate the performance of your system beyond any component upgrade at the same price, we want to hear from you.

Not ready to commit to the Gold without hearing it first? We've built a single-outlet power distributor housing a fully broken-in Gold receptacle that you can borrow. You'll lose a little of the effect compared to a direct wall install, but it will give you a very honest sense of what this thing is capable of. Get in touch and we'll sort it out.

The Trade-Up Program

Start where your budget is comfortable. You have one full year to trade your QSA receptacle in for any higher level and receive 100% of your original purchase price as credit. No depreciation, no partial trade-ins. Every dollar you spend today is a dollar toward wherever you end up.

FAQ

Q: I have a well-regarded power conditioner. How can a wall receptacle make a difference when the AC has to pass through all that filtering before reaching my components?

A: Honestly, the best answer we have is: it just does. Whatever noise the QSA receptacle is eliminating, it's not the same noise your conditioner is filtering — and your conditioner isn't blocking its effect. They coexist. We've heard this from enough customers with enough different systems and enough different conditioners that we're confident saying it: you will hear a difference.

Q: Should I ditch my power conditioner if I get one of these?

A: Probably not. Power conditioners handle RF filtering and other things the QSA receptacle isn't specifically targeting. Think of them as complementary rather than competing. That said — experiment if you can. You might surprise yourself.

Q: Are you serious? This is a standard electrical outlet.

A: We are completely serious, and we know how it sounds. Which is exactly why we're willing to let you borrow a Gold-level unit before you buy. We'd rather prove it than argue about it.
