LUMIN P1 Mini Network Music Hub

Most systems need three things at the center: a streamer, a DAC, and a preamp. The P1 Mini does all three in one slim chassis, then adds HDMI so your TV can play through your stereo too. It takes the multi-award-winning P1 and packs as much of its circuitry and flexibility as possible into a compact, beautifully finished box.

The Design

Two ESS ES9028PRO DACs feed a fully balanced output stage, with dual femto crystal oscillators and LUMIN's FPGA clock distribution, first developed for the X1 flagship, keeping timing precise. A new internal toroidal linear power supply provides clean, quiet power.

Optical fibre networking, another X1 innovation, isolates the P1 Mini completely from noise on the rest of your network, and the second network port works as a built-in switch for a NAS or LUMIN L2.

• USB, with an XMOS controller for native DSD512 and PCM 384kHz from your computer.
• HDMI with 4K, HDR, and Dolby Vision passthrough, ARC, and CEC volume control for your TV.
• Coaxial and optical digital inputs.
• Stereo analog input, with a home theater passthrough option.

Leedh Processing lossless volume control lets the P1 Mini drive a power amplifier directly. An Austrian-made acrylic and zinc remote is included, and the built-in infrared receiver works with universal remotes and automation systems.

How It Sounds

Reviewers describe the classic LUMIN combination of naturalness and engagement. 6moons' Frederic Beudot called it one of the most enjoyable one-box streaming solutions he'd heard in a long time. Hi-Fi Class heard a large, deep stage full of air, with the coherence and fluidity that make digital sound analog. StereoNET praised its precise timing, authoritative dynamics, and its kindness to less-than-perfect recordings.
