We'll get this out of the way upfront: the QSA AC receptacle looks like something from the electrical aisle at Home Depot. That's intentional. QSA isn't in the business of selling you fancy metalwork. What they are in the business of is a proprietary electronic conditioning treatment applied to that outlet before it ships. The outlet is just the vessel. The treatment is everything.

How the Levels Work

QSA AC Receptacles are available in ascending levels, each with a distinct sonic character. Yellow is the entry point — a meaningful improvement over any standard outlet, with greater naturalness and better low-level detail. Each level above Yellow builds on the previous: more resolution, more dimensional soundstage, greater naturalness. The Black/Red level is where the improvement becomes difficult to give up once heard. The Gold is reference-level performance.

The levels don't just do more of the same thing — the character shifts slightly at each step. The lower levels emphasize naturalness and warmth. The upper levels emphasize resolution and image density while retaining the naturalness. Choose the level that matches what your system needs rather than defaulting to the highest you can afford.

Our Experience

We've had QSA receptacles in our reference system for years. The improvement over standard outlets is not subtle. The improvement over premium audiophile outlets — the ones with machined aluminum housings and cryogenically treated contacts — is also not subtle. QSA's treatment does something that metallurgical quality and contact precision alone don't achieve.
