QSA USB Jitter Adapter Set - Crystal Violet
QSA USB Jitter Adapter Set — Crystal Violet
Very lightly used set of QSA Crystal Violet USB jitter adapters. One adapter per end of the USB cable running from your streamer to your DAC — directional, so installation direction matters.
What They Do
QSA's treatment applied to USB adapters addresses the jitter and noise that travels through the USB connection between source and DAC. The effect is consistent with other QSA products in character: more resolution, wider soundstage, and a more natural, less electronic presentation. The USB interface is one of the highest-noise paths in a digital audio system — USB was designed for data transfer, not low-jitter audio — and addressing it at the connection points rather than relying solely on the DAC's USB receiver makes a meaningful difference.
Crystal Violet vs. Violet
The Crystal Violet has more top-end sparkle and high-frequency extension than the standard Violet treatment. This is not brightness in the fatiguing sense — it's greater presence and extension in the upper registers, which reveals more air and space around instruments and makes cymbal strikes more realistic. Systems that are already extended and well-balanced in the top end will appreciate the Crystal Violet character. Systems that lean slightly analytical may prefer the standard Violet.
Press Recognition
QSA USB adapters have been discussed on AudiophileStyle and What's Best Forum alongside the broader QSA product line. Consistent finding: the improvement is real and greater than the price and form factor would suggest.
