Grand Activation Extreme EC-2000 Ethernet Cable
Grand Activation Extreme EC-2000 Ethernet Cable
Streaming brings network cable into your audio chain, and the EC-2000 is Grand Activation's answer for that last connection. It's an Ethernet cable from the Extreme line, built by the Bristol maker that applies its Metal Molecular Activation Technology to everything it sells.
The Extreme line, on the network side.
The Design
Grand Activation (GA) introduced its Metal Molecular Activation Technology (MMAT) in 2021 and applies it to all its products. GA says MMAT increases the number of electrons flowing per second through each conductor, improving dynamic range and lowering background noise. GA's case rests on listening, and so does ours. QSA, whose treatments we carry throughout our catalog, acknowledges that it treats Grand Activation's cables as well. Conductor, shielding, and connector details for the EC-2000 aren't yet published in a form we can pass on, so call us for specifications.
How It Sounds
Stereo Times' reviewers have heard GA's MMAT process in the HGA-6000 power cord and the SC-2000 speaker cables. Reviews of the EC-2000 are on the way, and we'll add our own listening notes as we gather them.
Where It Fits
Use it between your network switch or router and your streamer, or between a streamer and a DAC that accepts Ethernet. We're Grand Activation's US distributor, so we can help you choose between the 1m and 2m lengths.
Press Recognition
The EC-2000 is one of GA's newest products, and reviews of it are on the way. We'll add them here as they're published.
