Innuos Next-Gen NET Audiophile Network Switch

Your network is the first place noise enters a streaming system, and everything downstream inherits it. The Next-Gen NET gives a ZEN or ZENith Next-Gen a network foundation built to the same standard as the server itself, with technology trickled down from Innuos's flagship NazaréNET.

A reference server deserves a reference network.

The Design

At its core is the latest WaveNET board, developed for the NazaréNET and running Innuos's custom firmware for ultra-low-noise operation. Four Gigabit RJ45 ports connect your audio components, and an SFP port with a single-mode Finisar module brings in optical fibre.

Its power supply comes from the award-winning ZENith Next-Gen: a 300VA transformer, ARC6 active rectification, and four independent CX regulators feeding the digital and analog sections separately. That's an extraordinary supply for a network switch, and it's the reason the Next-Gen NET can deliver such a clean, stable foundation.

How to Use It

Innuos recommends running fibre into the Next-Gen NET's SFP port from your router. The fibre fully isolates your audio system from the wider network, and the switch then delivers a short, clean copper connection to your server or streamer. If your streamer accepts fibre, the SFP port can instead feed it directly. The Next-Gen NET also works as a high-quality copper-only switch.

How It Sounds

Innuos designed the Next-Gen NET to complete the Next-Gen system, carrying the ideas behind the NazaréNET into the ZEN Next-Gen series. We'll share our impressions here as we spend time with it.

Where It Fits

The Next-Gen NET is the network stage of Innuos's ZEN Next-Gen series, alongside the ZEN or ZENith Next-Gen and the Next-Gen FLOW reclocker, and it's an ideal upgrade for STATEMENT owners. For STREAM-series systems, Innuos offers the NET3 and NET1.
