Innuos PhoenixUSB Board
Innuos PhoenixUSB Board
You own a USB DAC you love, and you want your Innuos server to give it the best possible signal. The PhoenixUSB Board is built for exactly that job. It installs in the server's output bay and regenerates the USB signal from scratch, with precise timing and clean power, so your DAC receives music that's ready to sound its best.
A great DAC deserves a great USB signal.
The Design
The board's timing comes from a 3ppb 24MHz OCXO, an oven-controlled clock accurate to three parts per billion. The USB signal leaving your server is rebuilt against that reference, so it reaches your DAC with steady, precise timing.
Power matters just as much. Every independent voltage rail runs from ultra-low-noise LT3045 linear regulators, and the main USB chip runs entirely on linear power. The 5V line that travels down the cable to your DAC is clean and stable too. Your DAC's own clock and circuitry then work from a quieter, more precise input, and that shows up as finer low-level detail and a steadier soundstage.
How It Sounds
The PhoenixUSB carries forward the technology of Innuos's acclaimed outboard PhoenixUSB reclocker, now built into the server itself. You get the benefit in one box, with one short USB cable to your DAC.
Where It Fits
The PhoenixUSB Board fits all four current Innuos servers that take output boards: the STREAM1, STREAM3, ZEN Next-Gen, and ZENith Next-Gen. It's the natural choice for anyone running a quality USB DAC. If your DAC has an HDMI I2S input, compare it with the PhoenixI2S Board. And for ZEN Next-Gen and ZENith Next-Gen owners ready for the reference step, the Next-Gen FLOW takes USB reclocking into its own dedicated chassis and power supply.
Press Recognition
The PhoenixUSB Board earns its reputation inside complete Innuos systems, and board-specific reviews are on the way. We'll add them here as they're published.
