Audience earlier built its balanced cables from two runs of its single-ended design. The Au24 SX XLR changed that: it's a true dedicated differential cable, designed from the ground up for balanced circuits, and it carries the natural, unforced sound the Au24 SX is known for.

The Design

Au24 SX was Audience's flagship before frontRow, and it remains one of the most acclaimed cables the company has built. Every conductor is 99.9999% pure (6N) OCC copper, insulated in high-grade cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) and laid in Audience's Perfect Lay geometry: fine strands laid flat, side by side, rather than braided or twisted. Audience keeps the mass of each conductor and the jacketing to a minimum, a low-mass approach designed to reduce the eddy currents that smear transients and dull fine detail. Every Au24 SX cable is double cryogenically treated in Audience's own lab and handmade in San Marcos, California.

Audience describes the Au24 SX as more transparent and dynamic than the cables before it, with greater weight and authority and a richer tonal palette. Listeners most often call it natural, and reviewers agree: The Absolute Sound heard a fluid balance of ease, articulation, and immersiveness.
