Audience Forte V8 Power Distributor

Most power strips are an afterthought. The forte V8 gives you eight outlets built the Audience way: an extruded aluminum chassis, a copper buss bar design, high-purity stranded copper wire, and cryogenic and EHVP treatment of the entire circuit. The Absolute Sound's Neil Gader called it a more discriminating choice than a cheap plastic strip.

The Design

The forte V8 is built like an Audience product rather than a commodity strip. Its extruded aluminum chassis houses eight outlets on a copper buss bar design, wired throughout with high-purity 14 AWG stranded copper. Audience treats the entire circuit cryogenically and with its proprietary Extreme High Voltage Process. Input is a standard IEC, and the entry-level forte f3 powerChord is included.

How It Sounds

Audience calls the V8 an expression of its usual standard for power products: keep the music intact, with a musically balanced, high-resolution result. Neil Gader, running it from a T4 conditioner, found much of what he loves about the T4 character carried through.

Where It Fits

Use the V8 to bring more outlets to a source rack, to distribute power in a smaller system, or downstream of an adeptResponse conditioner. Gader ran his V8 from an Audience T4 conditioner and was surprised how many of the T4's alluring qualities stayed intact. Audience designed the V8 as a pure distribution platform, with surge and overload protection left to your wall circuit or an upstream protector, so plan your protection accordingly.
