The Innuos NET1 is an entry-level audiophile network switch with OCXO clock derived from the PhoenixNET, custom-wound transformers, GaN-ARC8 rectification, and isolated power rails. Innuos NET1

The network switch is where a streaming system either starts well or doesn't. Consumer switches are built for data throughput, not audio timing — they generate electromagnetic noise, handle packet timing imprecisely, and provide no isolation between the noisy upstream network and the sensitive downstream streamer. An audiophile switch addresses all of that. Until now, Innuos's entry point into this category was the PhoenixNET, which has been discontinued. The NET1 replaces it as the starting point — more compact, purpose-matched to the STREAM1, and designed from the beginning to grow with the system as it develops.

At $2,100 it is the most accessible Innuos network switch, and the one most likely to be a first purchase in this category. It is built to deliver a genuine improvement from day one and to remain relevant as the rest of the system improves around it.

The clock

The NET1 uses an OCXO clock architecture derived from the PhoenixNET — oven-controlled for temperature stability, with the precision timing that consumer switches do not provide. The PhoenixNET received significant critical recognition during its production life, and the clock platform it established is what the NET1 builds on. Better timing at the switch means more consistent packet delivery to the streamer, which reduces the jitter burden on the downstream DAC. This is the fundamental benefit of an audiophile switch, and the NET1 delivers it from a proven architecture.

The power supply

Custom-wound transformers, GaN-ARC8 rectification, and isolated power rails — the power supply specification uses technology from the NAZARÉ reference series, applied here to the NET1's clock and switching circuits. GaN (gallium nitride) rectification is faster and more efficient than conventional silicon diodes, producing a cleaner rectified supply with lower switching noise. Isolated rails keep the digital switching activity of the network controller from contaminating the clock supply. For a switch at this price point, that power supply specification represents a meaningful investment in the quality of what the OCXO clock receives.

Connectivity and chassis

Four gigabit Ethernet ports. The chassis is compact — sized and styled to sit alongside the STREAM1 and the LPS1 linear power supply as a matched physical stack. This is not an incidental detail: a system that looks considered tends to be used more carefully, and the matching form factor makes the STREAM1 / NET1 / LPS1 combination a coherent starting point rather than a collection of mismatched boxes.

The LPS1 upgrade path

The NET1 can be powered directly from its internal supply. It can also be powered by the Innuos LPS1 linear power supply — and the LPS1 is designed to power both the STREAM1 and the NET1 simultaneously from a single unit. That is a specific design decision: the LPS1 upgrade does not require choosing which component benefits. Both the streamer and the switch upgrade at once, from a power supply built to a higher standard than either unit's internal supply. For a listener building incrementally, this is a clear and cost-effective path — buy the STREAM1 and NET1, live with them, then add the LPS1 when budget allows and upgrade both in one step.

Where it fits

The NET1 is the right starting point for a listener entering the Innuos ecosystem at the STREAM1 level who wants to address the network connection properly from the beginning. It is also the right answer for anyone who has been running a STREAM1 into a consumer switch and has not yet given the network side of the chain the same attention as the server and DAC.

Within the Innuos switch range, the NET3 steps above the NET1 with the full WaveNET board, OCXO at 3ppb, Mundorf capacitors, dual CX regulation, and an SFP fibre port. The NET1 does not have fibre connectivity. If galvanic isolation from the upstream network is a priority, the NET3 is the appropriate step. If the priority is entering the category with a well-engineered switch that matches the STREAM1 and has a clear upgrade path, the NET1 is the starting point Innuos designed for that purpose.
