The Design

Most Ethernet cables twist their conductor pairs together. Wireworld takes a different route with Tite-Shield, its patented twinax design: each pair runs flat and parallel inside its own shielding, with the whole cable triple-shielded. Twinax is the same basic approach used in the 100Gb data center cables that move enormous amounts of data, and Wireworld uses it to isolate network noise far more effectively than a conventional twisted-pair design.

The conductors are 23-gauge OCC-7N solid silver. OCC stands for Ohno Continuous Casting, which grows each strand as a nearly continuous crystal, and 7N means 99.99999% pure. It's the same conductor Wireworld uses across its Platinum flagships, and it's the one change that separates the Platinum Starlight 10 from the Starlight 10 and Chroma 10, which share its Tite-Shield design. COMPOSILEX 5 insulation, Wireworld's own material, surrounds the conductors.

Wireworld verifies Gigabit Ethernet performance at 50 meters, and notes that with its Ethernet designs, longer lengths provide greater improvements.

How It Sounds

Wireworld describes the step up from silver-clad copper to solid silver as substantial, with virtually everything sounding more engaging and alive, and the move from the previous Platinum Starlight 8 bringing greater focus, depth, and vibrancy. In a streaming system, that means a blacker background, more natural texture, and music that feels more present in the room.
