Grand Activation AC-55 Bulk Power Cable

The best power cord you can build is limited by the cable inside it. The AC-55 is Grand Activation's activated single-crystal copper power cable, sold by the meter, so you can terminate it the way you want or send it to us to be built into a finished cord.

The Design

Each of the AC-55's three conductors is made of 105 strands of 0.26 mm activated single-crystal copper, which comes to about 5.6 mm² per conductor, roughly 10 AWG. Cotton separates the conductors rather than conventional plastic, and a copper foil shield wraps the assembly. The finished cable measures 15.2 mm in outer diameter and ships on 40-meter rolls. OCC stands for Ohno Continuous Casting, a process that grows each strand as a single crystal, and Grand Activation then applies its Metal Molecular Activation Technology (MMAT), which GA says increases the number of electrons flowing per second through each conductor. QSA, whose treatments we carry throughout our catalog, acknowledges that it treats Grand Activation's cables as well.
