Hapa Audio Aero Cu RCA Interconnect
The Aero Cu is the copper-conductor version of Hapa Audio's Aero platform and the way into its aerogel interconnects: a nano-polished UPOCC copper conductor in an aerogel dielectric, with a Litz silver shield.
The way into aerogel interconnects.
The Design
Hapa Audio is a small cable maker in Aurora, Colorado, founded by Jason Wong in 2020, and every cable is built by hand. Hapa's Aero, Haiku, and Torsion cables suspend the conductor in aerogel, a silica material that Hapa describes as 99.8% air, in place of conventional plastic insulation. Hapa says it pioneered aerogel dielectrics in cables.
The conductor is UPOCC (ultra-pure Ohno continuous cast) copper, nano-polished by Hapa. Hapa describes the polishing as a physical improvement to the conductor's surface, rather than a coating. The shield is Litz silver wire, which Hapa chose to reject RF while adding little capacitance around the aerogel dielectric.
How It Sounds
Hapa describes the Aero Cu as balanced and neutral, with transparency and naturalness. We'll add our own listening notes as we gather them.
Where It Fits
Use it between source and preamplifier, or preamplifier and amplifier. Compare it with the Aero AG, the silver version, or the Ember RCA below it. Tweek Geek offers in-home auditions nationwide, so you can hear it in your own system.
