Model: Aperta Sub
IsoAcoustics Aperta Sub subwoofer isolation stand. A sculpted aluminum platform with patented IsoAcoustics integrated isolators that decouples the subwoofer from the floor for tighter, better-defined bass, less room rattle, and less energy into the building. Aperta Sub supports subwoofers up to 80 lb (36.3 kg); Aperta Sub XL up to 160 lb (72.6 kg). Front- or side-firing. Low profile. Four carpet discs included. Black. Designed by IsoAcoustics in Markham, Ontario, Canada.

IsoAcoustics Aperta Sub Subwoofer Isolation Stand

Your subwoofer is the hardest-working box in the room. Its driver moves a lot of air, and every stroke pushes the cabinet against the floor just as hard. Sitting directly on that floor, the sub turns the whole surface into a second bass source. The floor booms, things rattle, bass notes blur into one another, and the energy travels through the structure into the rest of the house, or the apartment below.

The Aperta Sub puts the subwoofer on IsoAcoustics isolators so that energy goes where you want it: into the air, as clean, defined bass.

Put the bass in the air, where it belongs.

How It Works

The Aperta Sub is a sculpted aluminum frame with IsoAcoustics' patented isolators built in. The subwoofer rests on the isolators, the isolators rest on the floor, and the frame holds everything rigid and level in between. Cabinet energy dissipates through the isolators on a controlled path, so far less of it reaches the floor, and the sub stays planted and stable while it works.

At just 1.3 in (33 mm) tall, it sits low and discreet under front-firing and side-firing designs alike. It's made for subwoofers that sit flat, so setup is simple: set it down, place the sub on top, and listen. IsoAcoustics tested the design at the National Research Council of Canada.

Four carpet discs come in the box. Their 15 mm spikes reach through carpet to the floor beneath, giving the Aperta Sub a firm foundation in carpeted rooms.

What You Hear

The change is easy to hear and easy to describe. Bass tightens up and gains definition, so a kick drum lands as a punch instead of a thud, and bass lines show their pitch. Room boom settles down. Rattles from shelves, frames, and furniture fade away. And because the floor carries less of the sub's output, the bass blends more cleanly with your main speakers.

For anyone in an apartment, condo, or a house with sleeping kids upstairs, there's a bonus: noticeably less bass travels through the structure to the people around you.

Choosing the Right Size

The Aperta Sub supports subwoofers up to 80 lb (36.3 kg), which covers most home subwoofers, and it works well with lighter models too. For larger subwoofers up to 160 lb (72.6 kg), choose the Aperta Sub XL from the options above. It brings the same isolation to a bigger 14.5 x 16 in platform, and it also ships with carpet discs. Send us your sub's model and weight and we'll confirm the fit.

Where It Fits in Your System

The Aperta Sub belongs under the subwoofer in any home theater or two-channel system with a sub. It pairs naturally with IsoAcoustics GAIA Neo under your floorstanding speakers, so the whole system stands on the same isolation technology and the low end stays coherent from the mains down to the deepest notes.

It's also one of the most cost-effective bass upgrades we know of. Before you reach for room correction, a new sub, or bass traps, isolate the sub you already own.
