Wireworld Eclipse 10 Interconnect
Wireworld Eclipse 10 Interconnect
Copper has a sound listeners love: full-bodied, dynamic, and rich with the weight of real instruments. The Eclipse 10 is Wireworld's finest copper interconnect, built from pure OCC-7N copper in the same Quad DNA Helix geometry as Wireworld's silver flagships. It's where Wireworld's high-end Eclipse family begins.
The Eclipse design, in pure copper's rich, full-bodied voice.
The Design
The conductors are pure OCC-7N copper. OCC stands for Ohno Continuous Casting, which grows each strand as a nearly continuous crystal, and 7N means 99.99999% pure. Fewer crystal boundaries give the signal a smoother path, and copper's natural warmth carries through.
They're woven in Wireworld's patented Quad DNA Helix geometry, four helically twisted groups per polarity, the same architecture used in the Silver, Gold, and Platinum Eclipse. Wireworld designs the DNA Helix to cancel interference and keep the signal's energy evenly distributed through the cable. COMPOSILEX 5, Wireworld's own insulation, is engineered to minimize the static noise that insulation itself can create.
Wireworld set an ambitious goal for Series 10: the Eclipse 10 interconnect had to match the performance of the previous generation's Silver Eclipse 8.
The RCA version carries 18 gauge per polarity, with silver-tube RCA plugs and silver-clad OFC contacts. The XLR versions carry 21 gauge per polarity, with silver/copper alloy contacts.
How It Sounds
Expect copper at its best: a full, dynamic, natural presentation with solid bass weight and real body in voices and instruments, plus the clarity the DNA Helix design is known for.
Connections
- RCA to RCA, single-ended (ECI)
- XLR to XLR, balanced (EBI)
- RCA to XLR (ECI-RX) and XLR to RCA (ECI-XR), for mixed-connection systems
- RCA to RCA with external ground wire (ECI-G), for turntables and components that need a separate ground
Where It Fits
The Eclipse 10 is the entry point to Wireworld's Eclipse family, below the Silver Eclipse 10. Choose it when you want the Eclipse architecture and a rich copper sound, or to warm up a system that leans bright. When you're ready to step up, the Silver Eclipse 10 adds silver cladding for more air and detail. Wireworld also makes 5, 6, and 7 channel sets for multichannel systems.
Press Recognition
The Eclipse 10 family is part of Wireworld's current Series 10, whose Silver Eclipse 10 earned a Product of the Year Award from The Absolute Sound. Reviews of this model are on the way, and we'll add them here as they're published.
