Wireworld Gold Eclipse 10 Interconnect
Wireworld Gold Eclipse 10 Interconnect
Solid silver has a reputation among listeners for a reason: it lets fine detail and the shimmer of real instruments come through with remarkable ease. The Gold Eclipse 10 brings solid silver conductors to Wireworld's Quad DNA Helix design, one step below the flagship Platinum Eclipse, for systems ready to hear deeper into their recordings.
Solid silver detail with the rich tonal color of real instruments.
The Design
Every conductor is solid silver, a step beyond the silver-clad copper of the Silver Eclipse 10. Silver carries the signal with exceptional ease, and a solid conductor gives it one uniform material from end to end.
The conductors are woven in Wireworld's patented Quad DNA Helix geometry, four helically twisted groups per polarity. Wireworld designs the DNA Helix to cancel interference and keep the signal's energy evenly distributed through the cable. For Series 10, Wireworld doubled the number of strand groups compared with the Gold Eclipse 8 and moved to COMPOSILEX 5, its quietest insulation, engineered to minimize the static noise that insulation itself can generate.
The RCA version carries 18 gauge per polarity, with silver-tube RCA plugs and silver-clad OFC contacts. The XLR versions carry 21 gauge per polarity, with silver/copper alloy contacts.
How It Sounds
Wireworld voices the Gold Eclipse 10 for tactile, three-dimensional imaging and heightened musical expression: fine details come forward while the rich tonal colors of acoustic instruments and voices stay intact.
Connections
- RCA to RCA, single-ended (GEI)
- XLR to XLR, balanced (GBI)
- RCA to XLR (GEI-RX) and XLR to RCA (GEI-XR), for mixed-connection systems
- RCA to RCA with external ground wire (GEI-G), for turntables and components that need a separate ground
Where It Fits
The Gold Eclipse 10 sits between the Silver Eclipse 10 and the flagship Platinum Eclipse 10 in Wireworld's Series 10 interconnects. Choose it when your system has outgrown silver-clad copper and you want solid silver's resolution at well under Platinum pricing. It's an especially rewarding choice between a high-resolution DAC or phono stage and your preamplifier. Wireworld also makes 5, 6, and 7 channel sets for multichannel systems.
