SteinMusic Acoustic Disc Ultra

The Acoustic Disc Ultra combines the original Acoustic Disc with even more material and an additional layer based on Quantum Organizer technology. This makes it even more effective at improving room acoustics than the original Acoustic Disc. Available in black or white.

The Steinmusic Acoustic Disc Ultra is the latest development in the Acoustic Disc series and noticeably influences room acoustics. It unfolds its full potential in combination on its own, but can be combined with the Stein Harmonizer system. Simply placed in the room, the Acoustic Disc Ultra delivers outstanding results. However, the correct positioning significantly improves the sound, so it's worth investing some time in fine-tuning. The effect is best assessed using recordings of unamplified instruments and natural voices: this is where it becomes most audible how the position and proportions of singers and instruments become more realistic.

The Quantum Organizer Addition

Holger Stein's Quantum Organizer technology addresses what he describes as quantum-level field effects in the listening room — the same research direction that runs through the Ground Cube and other SteinMusic products. 

Placement

This is what  worked in our listening room:

1. Place one Acoustic Disc Ultra centered on the wall between the speakers to fill in the rear soundstage and lock in the center image.
2. An additional Acoustic Disc Ultra can be placed behind the listener on the ceiling for added spaciousness in the soundstage.
3. We then placed an Acoustic Disc Ultra about 3 to 4 feet outside, and about 3 feet in front of each speaker. 
4. We placed two Signature acoustic discs on the side walls behind our listening chair. They were closely lined up to the Ultra that was placed on the ceiling behind our listening chair. 

This combination "locked in" the cohesiveness of the soundstage all around us. It was as if we were in an acoustic bubble, surrounded by holographic, richly detailed and very sweet sound.

Essentially, think of the Acoustic Discs as soundstage enhancers. Wherever you feel the soundstage is less than immersive or dense, place an Acoustic Disc.

Where it Fits

The Ultra brings out the most low level information, where as the Signature and the Original do less of the detail, but tend to enhance the air, space and holography. This detail, and for that matter the air and space, is not at the expense of a relaxed presentation or sweetness in the midrange and high frequencies. In fact, that is one of the main tricks these devices pull off. Adding detail, air and space while making the mids and highs richer and sweeter.
