IsoAcoustics GAIA Neo Speaker Isolation Feet

Two things decide how good a pair of floorstanders can sound in your room: where they stand and what they stand on. GAIA Neo handles the second one beautifully, and it makes the first one easier too.

Your speaker's cabinet moves with every note. Through factory spikes, that motion goes straight into the floor, and the floor hands some of it right back. GAIA Neo gives that energy a controlled path out, holds the speaker steady and aimed at you, and lets you set it perfectly level with a twist of a ring. Here's the idea in one line:

Let your speakers play, while the floor is quiet.

What GAIA Neo Brings

GAIA Neo is the newest generation of IsoAcoustics' best-known speaker foot, and every change was made with real rooms and real owners in mind.

  • Height adjustment built in. Rotate the lower ring and each foot rises or drops by up to 8.5 mm (0.34 in). The isolator itself stays aligned while you adjust, so you can level a speaker on a floor that runs a little off, or fine-tune the rake toward your listening seat, in seconds.
  • A lower isolator that pivots. Floors are rarely perfectly flat. The bottom of GAIA Neo tilts to keep full contact with the surface, so the speaker sits solid and the connection into the cabinet stays relaxed.
  • A clean, flush fit. An integrated O-ring takes the place of lock nuts. Thread the foot up until the O-ring compresses and it seats firmly against the speaker's base.
  • Refined isolators. IsoAcoustics retuned the internal isolators, adjusting their shape, thickness, and durometer after further testing, and credits the changes with better clarity, focus, and low-frequency definition.
  • Two finishes. Dark chrome with a deep reflective sheen, or black that disappears under dark cabinets.

How It Works

The top of each GAIA Neo threads into your speaker, so the bond with the cabinet is solid. The bottom touches the floor through the lower isolator alone. All the energy in between passes through IsoAcoustics' patented isolator, which lets it dissipate on a controlled path. The metal housing stays clear of the floor, so the isolator does all the work.

The isolators are directional. Point the IsoAcoustics logo toward your listening seat and they line up with the push and pull of the drivers, resisting the side-to-side rocking that blurs an image. The speaker holds its aim, and the stage holds its shape.

What You Hear

The first thing most people notice is the bass. It tightens up and gains texture, with pitch and detail you can follow, and the low end often reaches a little deeper while sounding less heavy. Then the midrange clears: voices step forward with more natural tone, and acoustic instruments carry more of their real character.

The bigger reward is spatial. With the floor taken out of the conversation, both channels stop sharing the same smear, the center image locks in, and the soundstage gains depth and dimension. It feels like your speakers grew more capable overnight, because in a real sense they did.

We've had GAIA Neo under speakers from Bowers and Wilkins, Sonus faber, and Acoustic Energy, and the result is consistent from brand to brand. The change starts in the bass, which gains resolution and grip: notes start and stop cleanly, and the low end trades bloat and smear for real definition. That cleanup carries all the way up. With the bottom octaves under control, the entire frequency range gets more transparent, and you hear further into every recording.

Choosing Your GAIA Neo

Pick by the weight of one speaker. Each speaker uses a set of four.

  • GAIA III Neo: floorstanding speakers and subwoofers up to 70 lb (32 kg) each.
  • GAIA II Neo: floorstanding speakers and subwoofers up to 120 lb (54 kg) each.
  • GAIA I Neo: floorstanding speakers and subwoofers up to 220 lb (100 kg) each.

IsoAcoustics sets each rating from its performance curve, and the isolators sound their best comfortably inside it. When a speaker sits within about 10 percent of a model's limit, move up a size. Heavier speakers belong on the GAIA-TITAN Neo series, and we'll match the model to your speaker for you.

Fit, Floors, and Installation

GAIA I Neo ships with M12-1.25, M8-1.25, and 1/4"-20 thread adaptors. GAIA II Neo and GAIA III Neo ship with M8-1.25, M6-1.0, and 1/4"-20. IsoAcoustics makes dozens of alternate GAIA Neo threads, in standard, long, and extra-length versions, and we order the right one for your speaker free of charge. Tell us the model and we'll confirm the thread before your feet ship.

On hardwood, tile, laminate, or concrete, the lower isolator grips and stays put. On thick carpet or carpet over a pad, add the GAIA Neo Carpet Discs for a firm base under each foot. Floor sliders come in the box, so you can glide the speakers into their final position after installation, on carpet directly or on hard floors with the included felt pads, then remove them for best performance. The optional GAIA Neo Cap finishes the top of the isolator neatly where it meets the speaker.

Dedicated adapters cover Bowers and Wilkins 800 Series Diamond D3, D4, and D5, compatible Borresen models, and Sonus faber models with long front spikes. The GAIA F1 Speaker Jack makes the install a one-person job on heavier cabinets.

Where GAIA Neo Fits in Your System

GAIA Neo belongs under floorstanding speakers and subwoofers at every level, from a first serious pair of towers to a reference loudspeaker. It works with any electronics in any room, because every system shares the same basic setup: a cabinet sitting on a floor.

We like recommending it early in a system's life. Once the speakers are isolated and level, every later change, a new amplifier, a new DAC, a cable, becomes easier to hear and easier to judge. For stand-mount speakers, IsoAcoustics makes dedicated isolators that sit between the speaker and its stand. Ask us and we'll point you to the right one.
